Zarokh, the Temporal is the final boss of the Trial of the Sekhemas in Path of Exile 2. Reaching him is already a test of build strength and Honour management, but the boss fight itself demands good movement and quick reactions. If you are preparing a new character for the trial, having enough POE 2 Orbs can make it easier to upgrade your gear before taking on the four-floor challenge.

Who Is Zarokh, the Temporal?

Zarokh appears at the end of the full four-floor Trial of the Sekhemas. The trial works differently from normal Path of Exile 2 content. You move through a series of rooms, choose your route, collect Sacred Water, pick up Boons, and try to keep your Honour high enough to reach the final encounter.

The complete trial contains 32 rooms across four floors. Defeating Zarokh rewards the third and fourth Ascendancy points, so this fight is a major milestone for character progression. Players who want to buy POE 2 Orbs can also use additional currency to improve their equipment before attempting the trial.

Honour Is Your Real Health Bar

Honour is effectively a second health pool inside the Trial of the Sekhemas. Damage taken during encounters reduces Honour, and reaching zero ends the run even if your character still has Life or Energy Shield available.

That is why Honour Resistance is one of the most useful stats for this activity. It reduces the amount of Honour lost from incoming damage and normally caps at 75%. Certain Relic modifiers can push the cap as high as 90%.

Prioritize These Before Zarokh:

• Honour Resistance
• Honour recovery
• Defensive Boons
• Relics with useful defensive modifiers
• Movement speed or reliable mobility
• Consistent single-target damage

If you are short on crafting materials or trading currency, cheap POE 2 Orbs can help you finish gear upgrades without having to farm every resource yourself.

Zarokh's Most Dangerous Mechanics

Zarokh is not simply a boss that you can stand beside and attack. His attacks cover large portions of the arena, while several mechanics force you to keep moving.

The Sands of Time sequence is the mechanic that causes many failed attempts. Hourglasses appear during the encounter, and you need to move through the arena and collect them before the effect becomes overwhelming.

Tips for the Hourglass Phase:

1. Keep moving as soon as the mechanic begins.
2. Check the arena and identify the nearest hourglasses.
3. Avoid unnecessary movement across dangerous areas.
4. Save your movement skill for situations where you actually need it.
5. Do not tunnel-vision on Zarokh's health bar.

Movement speed is particularly valuable here because getting trapped or arriving late at an hourglass can quickly end an otherwise successful run.

Best Way to Prepare

Zarokh becomes much more manageable when your character is built for consistency rather than maximum paper DPS. A little less damage is usually worth it if it gives you better defenses and mobility.

Before entering the trial, check your:

• Resistances and defensive layers
• Honour Resistance
• Relic setup
• Recovery options
• Movement skills
• Single-target damage
• Ability to survive prolonged encounters

Zarokh can also drop valuable loot, including the highly desirable Temporalis Unique. Players using The Last Flame Incense Relic can pursue an even harder challenge that requires an exceptionally clean run with very little Honour lost.

Zarokh Rewards and Ascendancy Progression

The biggest reason to defeat Zarokh is the Ascendancy progression. Successfully completing this encounter grants the final two Ascendancy points available from the Trial of the Sekhemas, giving your build access to important additional passive choices.

For players focused on gearing efficiently, buy Path of Exile 2 Orbs can also be useful when preparing a character for difficult endgame encounters. Still, good preparation matters more than simply stacking damage.

Final Tips for the Trial

Zarokh is much easier once you stop treating the encounter as a traditional DPS check. The entire trial matters: your Relics, Boons, Honour pool, recovery options, and decisions in earlier rooms all affect the final fight.

Learn the hourglass mechanic first, keep your Honour healthy, and avoid unnecessary hits. With reliable defenses and enough mobility, the Trial of the Sekhemas becomes far less frustrating. For players looking to improve their build before another attempt, POE 2 Orbs can provide a convenient way to sort out missing gear and crafting needs. Once the mechanics become familiar, defeating Zarokh feels less like a lucky run and more like a fight you can consistently control.
